When the pager sounds, our crews don’t know what they’ll be responding to – it could be anything from rescuing a dog that has slipped down a cliff, to a huge tanker drifting in storm force conditions.
Storms are particularly volatile and make it very difficult for manoeuvring, co-ordinating and sustaining a rescue attempt. As part of our ‘How to Save Lives Series’, watch our video demonstrating how our crews are able to save lives in storm conditions, featuring interviews with crew, heritage footage and an engineer conducting a walkaround of a lifeboat.
